UNIMALNEWS | Jakarta - Six students of Universitas Malikussaleh completed the six-month Certified Internship Program called I-Generation Apprentice Program at PT Citra Multimedia Indonesia.  The students - Dwi Anggraeni, Elvira Siti Humaira, Aprillia Annisa , Nurul Nashima, Arif Darmansyah, and Fahrul Rozi Siregar started their internship on 17 September last year.

The sendoff ceremony was held at the Media Indonesia office, in Kedoya Selatan, Kebon Jeruk, Jakarta on Tuesday (03/17/2020) and attended by the News Director of Media Indonesia, Usman Kansong, Medcom.id Editor in Chief Budiyanto, Head of News Indra Maulana, Sales and Partnership Manager Kelik Supriharjo, and Head of Public Relations and External Relations Unit of Unimal, Teuku Kemal Fasya.

Indra stated that in the future, Medcom is eager to continue the collaboration with Unimal, including to conduct public relations and journalism training, the use of experts from Unimal as news sources, and collaboration in research and survey. However, these have to be postponed temporarily due to the Covid-19 cases. "The internship students had been very helpful, especially those from Aceh.  They were very persistent and very supportive, but they also have to go back and complete their studies. Hopefully we can do further cooperation in the near future, "said Indra.

On this occasion, Usman Kansong also apologized that at the ceremony, not many employees of PT. Citra Multimedia were present at the office.  "The staff mostly work from home at the moment,  as in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, many jobs  including in media sector, are possible to be done anywhere," said Usman.  Furthermore, as the response to the outbreak of coronavirus, social distancing has also been implemented in the office, as well as  checking every person who enters the office with a thermo gun. Usman also added that this policy must be carried out in order to be synergistic with government policies to break the chain of transmission of the virus.

Finally, Usman Kansong also asked the interns to maintain their distance and not to shake hands with the others as efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus. “This virus does not recognize ethnicity and religion, so anyone can be affected,” he said. The ceremony was finally closed by two parties exchanging souvenirs.[kur]
