UNIMALNEWS | Lhokseumawe-  Malikussaleh University achieved a total of 10 medals in the Pencak Silat category during the Aceh Regional Student Sports Week (POMDA) 2023. The Pencak Silat competition was held at Hotel Lido Graha, Lhokseumawe, from Tuesday to Thursday (19-21/09/2023).

The overall Pencak Silat championship was clinched by Syiah Kuala University, securing 5 gold and 3 silver medals, followed by Ar-Raniry Islamic State University with 4 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals. Teuku Umar University claimed the third position with 2 gold and 1 bronze. Subsequently, Malikussaleh University earned 1 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze medals. Jabal Ghafur Pidie University followed with 1 gold and 1 bronze.

Various sports events in the Aceh Regional Student Sports Week (POMDA) 2023 hosted by Malikussaleh University have concluded. Today, Friday (September 22, 2023), the remaining competitions include Futsal and Badminton, which will also conclude by the end of the day.

Dr. Alfian, Chairman of the Committee and Vice Rector III of Unimal, mentioned, "All sporting events will conclude today, and the POMDA Aceh 2023 will officially close later this afternoon at around 4:00 PM WIB at the ACC Cunda Lhokseumawe ".

As of Thursday (September 21, 2023), the current leaders in the medal tally are Syiah Kuala University with an impressive 28 gold medals, followed by Bina Bangsa Getsempena University with 10 gold medals, Malikussaleh University with 8 gold medals, and Ar-Raniry Islamic State University also with 8 gold medals.

In the fifth position in the provisional standings is Samudra University with 7 gold medals, followed by Teuku Umar University with 3 gold medals, Almuslim  University with 3 gold medals, and Gajah Putih University with 2 gold medals, in addition to other esteemed higher education institutions."
