FEB Unimal Signs Collaboration Agreement with SEGi University Malaysia

UNIMALNEWS | Lhokseumawe – As part of efforts in fostering global partnerships among higher education institutions,  Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas  Malikussaleh (FEB Unimal) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SEGi University Malaysia, on Tuesday, 19 May 2020. As the on-campus activities have been suspended to implement safe distancing measures due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the signing ceremony was held online.

This MoU signing took place after some discussions were previously held by the two universities. The Dean of FEB Unimal, Dr. Hendra Raza said that the agreement between two universities will involve international collaboration, staff development program and class observation, student exchanges, visiting lectures, scientific talks, competition scholarships, ceremonies, live talk shows and many more. ”We do hope that the implementation of these activities can be started this year, “said Hendra to Unimalnews on Wednesday (20/05/2020).

The MoU was signed by Hendra Raza representing FEB Unimal, while Roslan bin Othman,  Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business of SEGi University signed on behalf of SEGi University. Two lecturers of Unimal’s Accounting Department, Dr Wahyuddin and Indrayani MSi, also witnessed the signing of the MoU. This online event was also attended by representatives from some Indonesian universities, and was made possible by the kind support from the Indonesian Accounting Lecturer Association (ADAI).

SEGi University, which was founded in 1977, is one of the largest private higher education providers in Malaysia. Located in Damansara City, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, it also has campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Subang Jaya, Penang, and Sarawak. Currently, the university has more than 25,000 students. The signing of the Agreement with this university will be followed by the implementation  of the programs which is expected to be effective this year once the Covid-19 lockdown period ends.[kur]
